WORM, the Weapon/Object Replacement Mutator allows you to replace any default UT weapon or pickup with (almost) any weapon or pickup from (almost) any UT modification. This brings many new possibilities into UT, such as a match using ChaosUT's Proxies and Sword, and U4eT's DollBomb and Zapper, and a few NextGen weapons along with a couple from Weapons Factory all in the same match!
The fastest way to import single items into WoRM is the List Editor found on the Options page of the mod menu.V. PlugIns
- Adding Items:
- Item Description - type the item's name how you want it to appear in the menus here. (Example: "SLV-Strangelove2")
- Item Summon String - type the item's summon string in in packagename.itemname form. (Example: "slv2.konglauncher")
- Add Item button- press this button once you have the 2 blanks filled in to add the item.
- Deleting Items:
- Select Item menu - Select the item you wish to remove from the lists.
- Delete Item button - hit this button to remove the selected item.
PlugIns are definitely the fastest way to get an entire mod's worth of items into WoRM.
- To install a PlugIn, simply place the int file in your UT\System folder. Next time you launch UT, all of the weapons & pickups included in that mod's PlugIn will show up in the WoRM menu.
- If you wish to stop a weapon or pickup from appearing in the WoRM menu, open up the PlugIn in Notepad, find the entry where the item is listed and add a semicolon (a ";" without the quotes) at the beginning of the line.
- You can get PlugIns at either the WoRM site or mod authors might include them with their mod (and I highly encourage them to). Mod authors are encouraged to create & include their own PlugIns with their mods. See the WoRM site for details on this extremely simple process.
